Espana Fifa World Cup 2010 Champions!

The most intense game I have ever seen! VIVA ESPANA! OLEEE OLE OLE OLE! This game was DIRTY, LONG, AND SO INTENSE! Netherlands played with their hands held in a fist, but that is what they are known for. Robben played so great! He was amazingly fast and his kicks toward the goal post almost sent me to the hospital. The game was a grueling 120 (not including extra time) minutes, and to the Netherlands misfortune Spain scored at the 116th minute! Only leaving the Netherlands 4 minutes (plus the 2 minutes extra time) to score a goal to tie the game. I was at the PRESIDENTE restaurant with my eyes glued to the TV in front of me, I kept turning to my mom and saying "I hope they score before it goes to penalties!" Thank God Almighty! They scored! Iniesta launched forward going offsides then backing up to not be offsides to make the GAME WINNING GOAL. Madrid was going CRAZY! and so was I. I screamed YES! and jumped out of my seat suddenly becoming ten times happier. Congratulations Spain on your win, you deserved it.

Spain Fifa World Cup 2010

So I have been a Spain Fan for about 2 years now and I have to saw that I'm so glad I became one. Because, as I had hoped, they have made it to the FINALS for this years (2010) world cup! I am amazed and so happy!
Spain at first came in pretty weak with a defense that seems like they were asleep. Spain had played against what most thought was an easy opponent, Switzerland. Spain kept their form throughout the whole game and didn't adjust to their opponents technique. ESP v SUI 0-1.
As the next game came along Spain showed major improvement by beating their central american opponent, Honduras. Although, Honduras had been marked as one of the "bad" teams I was still proud of Spain's victory. My friends simply identified it as an "easy win" but in my head I saw how all the teams were improving each game, and Spain had been amongst them. ESP v HON 2-0.

In the meantime I watched other games from countries that I favored, like Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Brazil. Watching these games showed me how different each country plays.

Germany was plowing through every country they encountered, they even beat Argentina (which was a World Cup favorite to win)4-0! People began thinking that they would be the winner of the World Cup.

Italy won the world cup four years ago and I was expecting them to make it to the quarter-finals, maybe even the semi-finals. Italy lost against Slovakia by a surprising score of 3-2. Italy left with their heads held high by scoring 2 points at their last game.

Portugal was, i must admit, one of my favorite teams this year. Their defense and offense were playing incredibly! Cristiano Ronaldo took a step back this year and let his companions have some glory. Nevertheless he made an impressive goal against North Korea where he juggled it on his feet, back, then feet again. BAM GOAL. Portugal made history by scoring 7 points on North Korea, while N. Korea did not make any goals at all. I was extremely excited to watch Brazil and Portugal play against each other. I was hoping to have Portugal win Brazil by one point at the 92th minute or something exciting like that, but instead the two teams left each other without having touched the net at all. It was a disappointment to me, but a relief to others. Talking about exciting and intense games...Portugal v Spain was definitely an EYE-OPENER to Spain's improvement. They had beat one of the best teams in the world cup. Portuguese fans argue that the goal was offsides by 22 cm but soccer is soccer and sometimes referees make mistakes. Portugal left angry, but everyone knew that they were a worthy opponent to Spain. 1-0.

Brazil, everyone's favorite. Watching Brazil play their first game against North Korea made me nervous. Brazil's playing style seemed like they were floating on air. Their passes and footwork came off as the work of angels. I was shaking in my boots to think that Spain would be playing against these attractive soccer beasts. The whole world watched their every move and cheered loudly for them. Fans immediately handed them the cup before the games even started. I put Brazil in the final the day the World Cup games began, but this time everyone was wrong. Brazil strolled passed every country hardly making any effort at all, but to everyone's amazement
Holland/The Netherlands stopped Brazil from passing them by. Brazil lost 2-1 against Holland. Holland made two "golazzoooosss" with their heads, those two headers lead them into victory.

A team worth talking about besides the most popular or favorite teams is Holland/Netherlands. Holland entered the world cup with a bang. They defeated Denmark without breaking a sweat. 2-0. Then Japan, Cameroon, Slovakia, Brazil, and last but not least Uruguay (a south american favorite, also a VERY good team. Holland came out the other end without any defeats. With stars like Robben and Sneijder we should have known before! I congratulate Holland for making it this far.

Spain won today against Germany, another worthy opponent that fell short today. I was SO HAPPY when this happened! I almost cried! SPAIN MADE IT TO THE FINALS!!!!

HOLLAND/THE NETHERLANDS v SPAIN/ESPANA - FINAL
